HAMBURG, NY – Hilbert opened with a 42-30 half time lead and stretched it to as many as twenty points mid-way through the second half to capture their first non-conference game of the season in the 83-59 win over Fredonia State November 15. Dan McFarland shot a hot 71% from the floor finishing as the game’s leading scorer with 26 points and game high six assists. Tyrone Clark carried the Blue Devils with 17 points (80% fg), four steals and a thunder dunk just before half time.
Hilbert executed their offense during the first twenty minutes shooting 63% from the floor with nine turnovers. They were able to get inside the paint and score easy buckets while still shooting almost 42% from long distance. And they carried that confidence into the second half going 15-26 from the floor. Fredonia shot a respectable 44% but their 23 turnovers ultimately cost them the game.
Anthony Hodge chipped in 17 points and five steals feeding off Trevor Stark’s and Isaac Bushey’s three steals a piece. Freshman Jerame Owens cleaned the glass for the Hawks leading all rebounders with nine.
Amir Billups contributed 11 points for Fredonia.

St. John Fisher's two scores carried the Cardinals to a 79-60 victory in game two of the Tip-Off Classic played Novmeber 16. Jason Norsen and Adam Ambielli each netted 25 points burning the net with their high shooting percentages. Fredonia got balanced scoring from the Blue Devils, led by Joe Monahan's 12 and Dalton Kashmer's 10 points.
Fredonia closes the Classic at 0-2 while St. John Fisher and Hilbert sit a 1-0 before they tip it at 1pm Novmeber 17.
