HAMBURG, NY - Please join Curt Campbell, Director of Sports Medicine at Hilbert College, as he hosts an educational session "Concussion In Sport - Voices From The Silent Epidemic" on January 29th beginning at 7pm in the Swam Auditorium at Hilbert.
During the presentation, Dr. Jennifer Teeter (Hilbert College team physician) will cover current management of concussions as it relates to the student-athlete including diagnosis, signs, symptoms and return-to-play procedures.
Ray Ciancaglini, former professional boxer and current concussion awareness advocate who has sturggled with post-concussion syndrome since suffering numerous concussions as a boxing athlete, will discuss post-concussion syndrome and why awareness of the concussion epidemic is so important to the long-term health of an athlete.
Former Hilbert College student-athlete, Ed Heffron, will bring the presentation to a close with the story of his concussive injury and subsequent struggle with post-concussion syndrome.
This presentation is open to the general public.
