CJ Hodge Adam Weaver
CJ Hodge and Adam Weaver have been named the Hilbert College Student-Athletes of the Month for January, 2013.
Hodge (Rochester, NY/Gates Chili) averaged 24.7 minutes per game in January where the Hawks went 6-3 in men’s basketball. The junior guard started all nine contests and averaged 6.0 points, 1.4 rebounds, 3 assists and almost 2 steals per game while shooting an impressive .556 percent from beyond the 3-point arc. The notable stats line for the south paw is his assist to turnover ratio of 4.5 during the first month of 2013.
Hodge opened the month scoring 12 points and dishing 5 assists against Mount Aloysius. And while at Pitt-Bradford he chipped in 13 points and 2 assists in the victory. He finished the month tallying five assists twice and four assists two other games with only six turnovers during 110 minutes of high-energy, quick thinking/reacting Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference competition.
Hodge is a forensic science/crime scene investigation major and carries a cumulative 2.81 GPA.
Weaver (Stow, OH/Archbishop Hoban) led the Hawks with 68 kills and 5 service aces while passing 30 digs. The junior’s 4.53 kills per set and his .329 hitting percentage carried Hilbert to a 2-3 start to their season.
On January 26th, the Outside Hitter became Hilbert College’s All Time Kill leader when he was credited with his 12th kill against SUNYIT. The Hawks went onto claim victory in a 3-set match and moved to 2-1 early in the season. Weaver’s highlight effort came in a 4-set loss to Penn State Altoona when he recorded 26 kills, 3 blocks and 16 digs. Based on his performance in the last week of the month, Weaver was named as the AMCC Volleyball Player of the Week and currently has 627 kills to his name.
Weaver is pursuing a criminal justice degree and carries a cumulative 3.79 GPA.
