Game One Box Game Two Box
CRESSON, PA – Mount Aloysius claimed two AMCC baseball wins over Hilbert College with identical scores 11-4 April 20th. Joe Pernick led the Hawks with three hits as Hilbert dropped to 1-11 in league play. Tyler Sulski and Garrett Pauly hit doubles in the opening game while Tyler Shaw was credited with the same in the night cap.
Both teams went three pitchers deep in the rotation to open the day, with Tony Mara taking the loss in 3 innings, while C Kyle earned the win after five innings for Mount Aloysius. The Mounties took control of the game by the bottom of the fourth, holding a 10-1 lead. The Hawks put two runs on the board in the sixth and one more in the seventh.
The second game had a similar feel as the opening game. The Mounties took a 4-0 lead after three and added five more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Hilbert responded with four runs in the top of the fifth, but it was too little, too late. Pauly went four innings before he was relieved by Andrew Cartaginese for the final two. Cody Ashford, Tom Irish, John Babosci and Ryan Ilardi were all fast enough to steal one bag during the second game.
