Mount Aloysius Results
CRESSON, PA – Junior John Macchia broke 80 to lead the Hilbert College golf team at the Mount Aloysius College Invitational held at the Cresson Country Club September 8. Macchia finished with a team and season low 77 score on a very tough course. Cresson’s local golfer, Dylan Link was the invitational medalist with a 67 card.
The hosts, Mount Aloysius claimed the team trophy with a 311 score just two strokes ahead of Penn State Behrend. La Roche finished with 321, Thiel with 327, and Penn State Altoona reached 322. Pitt Bradford snuck past Pitt Greensburg by one stroke, as the Panthers finished with 340. Medaille earned a 347 and Hilbert had a 352.
Junior Ryan Ratajczak was Hilbert’s second lowest scorer at 84 and sophomore Jacob Reinecke ended with an 89. The Hawks last countable scorer was junior Vincent Giamberdino who reached for 102. Also competing on the trip was senior Gary Gawera but his 111 did not count in the team total.
Hilbert, and most of the other teams in today’s match, will get back after it tomorrow morning at Sinking Valley Country Club as Penn State Altoona hosts the 8 am Invitational.
