Message for Hilbert students from President Zane
Nov 23, 2014
We hope everyone is staying safe and warm. We realize the priority for many of you right now is ensuring the safety of your family, friends, and neighbors; we certainly understand that. We encourage all of you to take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of yourself and your loved ones at this time.
Hilbert College was closed for four days during this weather emergency, therefore, this upcoming week will be extremely important for you and your coursework at Hilbert. Please GO TO CLASS on Monday and Tuesday. Many of your professors have already posted work on Blackboard that you can locate now and get a head start. We all appreciate that it is going to be a challenge to complete the semester given these unexpected cancelled class days. We have every confidence that if you work closely with your professors, stay focused, and do the required work in a timely way, you will continue to be successful.
A special thank you goes out to the students who stepped up and took extraordinary roles during the last week. From staffing the cafeteria, to digging out cars completely encased in snow, to emptying the garbage while our maintenance staff was clearing snow, your servant leadership has been deeply appreciated.
Stay safe, warm, and starting Tuesday after your last class, enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving break with friends and family.
Cynthia Zane
President
