HAMBURG, N.Y. – After a national search, Jacob Yale has been named Director of Admissions at Hilbert College. Yale began his new role last week.
Yale has over 12 years of admissions experience. He spent the past two years on the shores of Lake Tahoe first as the Associate Director of Admissions and then the Director of Admissions at Sierra Nevada College (SNC) in Nevada. At SNC, the admissions team, under Yale’s leadership, set enrollment records for May 1 deposits with an increase of 28% and reached 78% of their Fall class by May 1. He also noted a 10% increase in applications, 31% increase in accepted students, a 15% increase in freshmen and transfer deposits and a 30% increase in international students.
Yale cultivated many new partnerships for SNC which expanded its international agreements with the Institute of International Education in the United Nations Plaza in New York City, which includes Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant Program, Brazil Scientific Mobility Program, and Study America. In addition, he initiated a partnership in Washington, D.C. with the Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission to place future science students at SNC.
Yale rebranded many of SNC’s communications with prospective students, including automated email communications, admissions website, mailings, brochures, and acceptance materials. He supervised the direction of the admissions team and implemented strategies for ongoing assessment and monthly goal creation.
Prior to his time at SNC, Yale spent 10 years at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. As Assistant Director of Admissions, Yale was a key contributor to the largest enrolled classes in the university’s history in 2006, 2007, and 2008. He has various experience in managing and planning events, including open houses, campus tours, orientations, leadership groups, athletic functions, and alumni events.
Yale, a native of Central Pennsylvania, earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Arts and Design and a Master of Science in Mass Media Marketing and Journalism. He currently resides in Hamburg.
