HAMBURG, N.Y. – Hilbert College was awarded a $500,000 grant from The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation. This is the third year Hilbert has received this grant and will be used to continue essential support of the Franciscan Advocacy & Resource Center at Hilbert. As you know, this Center helps students overcome life issues and supports and strengthens their ability to transition and thrive in their educational setting and beyond.
“This is a very significant day for Hilbert College,” Hilbert President Michael S. Brophy, Ph.D. said. “I am extremely grateful to The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation for this outstanding and continued generous support. The Foundation’s investment in the Franciscan Advocacy & Resource Center at Hilbert will continue to be truly transformative for the students we serve and the community at large.”
“This year the Foundation is proud to support so many essential, innovative, and hard-working groups working on behalf of the health of New Yorkers. These include an array of religiously affiliated organizations that support critical programs through a well-established infrastructure serving the needs of the poor and underserved of all faiths,” said Kathryn Ruscitto, Chair of the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation’s Regional Grants Committee.
The Franciscan Advocacy & Resource Center focuses on:
- Mental Health and Well-Being.
- Student Accessibility, Success, and Retention.
- Campus Ministry Outreach, including the Campus Food Pantry.
- Student Advocacy.
- Collaborative Learning and Community Building.
This funding will continue to strengthen our diversity and inclusion initiatives at Hilbert, address food insecurity and provide emergency funding and scholarships. Additional services and support will be provided this year for mental health, accessibility, and retention initiatives.
