(HAMBURG, New York) Hilbert College Campus Safety will participate with local first responders for an emergency preparedness drill on the Hilbert campus on Saturday, July 8, from 1-4pm. The drill will focus on active shooter and mass casualty prevention and preparedness training and will involve the Town of Hamburg Police Department patrol and SWAT officers, volunteer fire companies, EMS, and Hilbert Campus Safety.
The training will involve simulated firearms and ammunition (“simunition”) and several actors playing both active shooters and victims throughout the Hilbert campus. Traffic in and out of campus and several buildings will be affected throughout the day.
“This drill is an excellent opportunity for the Hamburg Town Police, Fire, and EMS agencies to train while increasing their familiarization with our campus, and providing training and awareness to our Campus Safety Officers,” said Hilbert College Director of Campus Safety Joseph A. LaRosa.
If you have business on campus on July 8 or wish to observe the training, please contact Director LaRosa at jlarosa@hilbert.edu or (716) 926-8925.
