Office of Marketing & Communications

The Marketing & Communications Department is responsible for the visual marketing and identity of the college.

Our marketing area creates engaging campaigns to support the Hilbert College Strategic Plan, enrollment initiatives, and sustain the Hilbert College brand and image. We promote awareness by utilizing a wide range of tactics and techniques as well as use available market research to help determine the best strategy to reach your target audience. Our mission is to promote, maintain, and enhance the image of the College.

Marketing & Communications is here to help you, but before making a request, you should have a general sense of your project’s scope – will you need writing, design and/or photography, what format will best suit your objectives (brochure, booklet, postcard, other), what your overall budget is and when you need delivery. The creative and production process can take anywhere from several weeks to many months. All design projects (collateral material) will require Vice President approval before planning and design can begin.

Creative Print & Design

The Marketing & Communications Department is responsible for the visual marketing and identity of the college. We also coordinate all print projects to facilitate estimates and production.

From banners and billboards, to print and electronic advertising, publications, posters, invitations and more, Marketing & Communications manages all these services --- campus wide.  All design projects (collateral material) will require Vice President approval before planning and design can begin.

The college’s wordmark and graphic standards are available online, but we can provide help using the college’s wordmark on any publication, apparel or item for sale or distribution.

Print publications include: Hilbert College Magazine (alumni magazine), admissions pieces, newsletters, etc. Publications are available online.

We also assist in the development of publications for special events required by the college and various departments. Marketing & Communications facilitates crisis communications, via social media and on the Web site.

News Services

Marketing & Communications coordinates media relations for the college and is the main liaison for news bureaus and reporters seeking information or experts for stories they are working on. The office sends out press releases to constituent and news outlets to inform, pitch stories and publicize news, programs, and events.  The office also serves as chief media contact for day-to-day news on campus and acts as the voice of the college in the event of an emergency.

Hilbert College Names Dr. Kristine Still New Provost and EVP

Mar 24, 2023
news-release-provost-announcement

HAMBURG, New York — Hilbert College has named Kristine Still, PhD, as Provost and Executive Vice President. Still assumes this new role in June. As the college's chief academic officer, Still will join Hilbert at a pivotal moment for the college and community, closely following the announcement of its pending acquisition of Ohio and West Virginia-based Valley College and the steady expansion of its undergraduate and graduate programs across traditional and online settings.

“Dr. Still comes to Hilbert at a formative time,” said Hilbert College President Michael Brophy, PhD. “In addition to her exemplary academic leadership record, her experience teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs combines with her urban education commitment to support the central initiatives of our strategic plan. Our community is very impressed with the combination of expertise, empathy, and vision that Kristine brings to our community, as well as her preparation to lead academic programs at a Catholic and Franciscan college.”

Still comes to Hilbert from Mount Union University in Alliance, Ohio, where she has served since 2019 as the founding Dean of the College of Applied and Social Sciences as well as a professor of Education. Still led all academic affairs for the college in its early years, overseeing three academic schools and two robust academic departments, with a focus on faculty relations, strategic planning, and curriculum design and delivery, in addition to overseeing the Regula Center for Public and Civic Engagement.

“I feel very blessed and am profoundly grateful for this incredible opportunity to continue my own academic journey at a remarkable institution with exceptional colleagues,” said Still. “In my new role as Provost of Hilbert College, I am poised to live out my passion for servant leadership in this warm and welcoming faith-filled academic community.”

Still received her B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Akron and an M.A. from Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio. Still's doctoral study in literacy at the University of Akron has served as a basis for a distinguished teaching and research career, with highlights in publications, presentations, grants, and urban education initiatives.

Prior to joining Mount Union University, Still served for more than a decade at Cleveland State University, where she held a variety of leadership positions. In addition to teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs at Cleveland State, Still served in leadership roles in CSU's literacy education and community learning programs. Her work in urban education ultimately led to her appointment as the college’s Associate Dean for Student Services and External Relations.

“I see a lot of innovation and excitement at Hilbert, and I am truly looking forward to being part of a team that is willing to take risks in this challenging market of higher education,” Still added. I am eager to work alongside President Brophy and to collaborate with the entire campus community as we move forward the impressive and significant work of the college that began under his leadership.”
