Dr. Dana Bagwell, Assistant Professor of Public Administration
Master of Public Administration Program
Dr. Dana Bagwell will join Hilbert College as an Assistant Professor teaching in our master’s in public administration Program. Dana brings 24 years of teaching experience to Hilbert College. Dana has taught as an adjunct instructor at Hilbert College since 2014 and has a variety of employment experiences. He most recently served as Director of Gannon University’s Institutional Research, Assessment and Analytics office. Dr. Bagwell’s research focus relates directly to gerontology, memory, self-efficacy and goal setting. Dana is a prolific scholar having completed 13 major research projects, 23 publications and 23 presentations at conferences both locally nationally and internationally. Dr. Bagwell earned a Doctorate (EdD) in Health Policy from D’Youville and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology with minors in Sociology and Gerontology from the University of Florida.
Jason Becker, Assistant Professor of the Department of Business
Sport Industry Management Program
Mr. Jason Becker will join our Department of Business as an Assistant Professor in support of our Sport Industry Management program. Jason brings to Hilbert sixteen years of serving as an adjunct and visiting professor at several institutions within New York and surrounding states including SUNY Fredonia, SUNY Oswego, American University, Southern New Hampshire, Gannon University, George Mason University and Clarion University to name a few. He has previously taught in our Sport Industry Management program at Hilbert as well. Jason has experience with both face to face and online delivery modes in the areas of Sports Analytics, Sport Administration, Communication, Physical Education and Recreation. Jason received an M.S.A. in Sport Administration from Canisius College, a B.A in Broadcasting and Mass Communication from SUNY Oswego and an A.S. in Communication from Jamestown College.
Dr. Jonas Patricko, Associate Professor of the Department of Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity Program
Dr. Jonas Patricko, will join our Department of Cybersecurity as an Associate Professor. He brings to Hilbert substantial teaching experience. Most recently, he served at Medaille College for 11 years as a Professor in Business and Information Systems as well as serving as their Business Internship Coordinator. Dr. Patricko has experience with both On-line and On-ground teaching and has also served in the role of Department Chair. Jonas has taught at other institutions, in Western New York, including ITT Technical Institute, Bryant & Stratton College, Buffalo Academy of Science, Niagara University, Enterprise Buffalo Charter School, Starpoint Central School District and Lewiston Porter Central School District. Given his previous College teaching experience and working within the Adult Education sector, we know he will be a great fit at Hilbert and make valuable contributions to our learning community. Dr. Patricko earned a Doctor of Business Administration from California State University, a Master of Science Education from SUNY Buffalo, a Bachelor of Science in Business Management Information Systems from SUNY Empire, an Associate Degree of Science in Computer Information Systems from Niagara County Community College.
Doreen Prendergast, Assistant Professor of the Department of Natural Science & Math
Chemistry
Doreen Prendergast will join Hilbert’s Department of Natural Science and Math as an Assistant Professor supporting our Chemistry program. She has a longstanding passion for teaching spanning her 25-year teaching career. Doreen served as a High School Chemistry teacher at Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart, Royalton-Hartland High School, and Niagara-Wheatfield High School in addition to teaching at the Huntington Learning Center and ongoingly serving as a private tutor specializing in preparing high school students for the Math and Science portions of the SATs. Doreen’s higher education experience include serving as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Buffalo, an Instructional Support Specialist and Adjunct Chemistry Professor at the University of New York’s Erie Community College and since 2021 she has been with us at Hilbert as an Adjunct Chemistry instructor. Ms. Prendergast earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Science in Education from Canisius College, and a Master of Arts in Chemistry from the University of Buffalo. Doreen is a doctoral candidate at the University of Buffalo where she will earn the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in 2025.
Jonathan Sullivan, Assistant Professor of the Department of Criminal Justice
Intelligence & Data Analysis Program
Mr. Jonathan Sullivan will join our Department of Criminal Justice as an Assistant Professor in support of our Intelligence and Data Analysis program. Jonathan brings to Hilbert a myriad of experiences in law enforcement including locally and internationally. He has served since 1994 as a U.S. Border Patrol Officer, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agent and most recently as a TSYMMETRY Senior Investigative Analyst in Arlington, Virginia. We are proud to also know Mr. Sullivan as one of our accomplished Hilbert College Alumni having received his Associate of Arts and a Bachelor of Science degree at HC. Johnathan has undergone extensive training at the Drug Enforcement Administration Academy in Quantico, Virginia and at the US Border Patrol Academy in Charleston, South Carolina among many others throughout his esteemed law enforcement career. Additionally, he has received numerous awards and honors and most notably, in 2017, was awarded the Civilian Global War on Terror Medal for his role in the rescue of 5 American hostages.
