Hilbert College & Canisius University
Hilbert College, in partnership with Canisius University, is excited to offer an accelerated 4+1 pathway to a Master of Science in Education (MSEd) and New York State teaching certifications. This innovative program allows you to earn your bachelor's degree and master's in just five years, saving you time and resources.
4+1 Program Schedule
As an eligible English or Liberal Studies student, you'll begin taking six select Canisius undergraduate education courses during your freshmen/sophomore year, all while completing your Bachelor of Arts degree at Hilbert. You'll travel to Canisius for class (one class per semester) during your sophomore year for these courses.
Upon your undergraduate graduation, you'll seamlessly transition to Canisius to complete your master's degree in Adolescent Education (grades 7-12) and Special Education (grades K-12), earning your New York State certifications. Your master's level classes will be held both on-campus and online, offering flexibility. Upon completion of the program, if you're an English major, you'll be qualified to teach English. If you're a Liberal Studies major, you'll be qualified to teach Social Studies.
