Wingspan Programs

Hilbert College is dedicated to making quality education accessible to all students. Our Wingspan Programs offer financial aid awards specifically designed to support underserved and first-generation students.

Wingspan recipients also participate in specialized mentor programs, financial aid counseling, and academically supportive programming. These initiatives are designed to support you on your academic journey and “level the playing field,” providing all students with the tools necessary for success in the classroom and on the road ahead.

Hilbert College is currently ranked #9 in social mobility, meaning we provide opportunities for students to overcome socioeconomic barriers and improve their life prospects through our educational programs.

Explore the three Wingspan Programs and see if you qualify for financial and academic support:

Say Yes Scholarship Program

As part of our partnership with Say Yes to Education, Hilbert offers a limited number of full-tuition scholarships to students who meet Say Yes requirements. Say Yes Scholarships are applied as a waiver of any remaining cost of tuition after need-based financial aid and other Hilbert scholarship(s) have been applied.
Enroll full-time at a Say Yes college within one year of high school graduation. Transfer students can enroll at anytime. Students can choose to study on-campus, or go online with Hilbert College Global.

HEOP

The Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) was created to provide a broad range of services like financial support, meals and supplies to New York State residents who meet both academic and financial thresholds set by the higher education institution.

The HEOP program was created in 1969 by the New York State Legislature and is a partnership between the State of New York and Hilbert College. Through the financial support for tuition and fees, housing and an unlimited meal plan as well as books and supplies, HEOP students strengthen their skill sets and achieve lifelong success at Hilbert College.

Hawks Level-Up

The Hawk’s Level-Up Program was born from Hilbert’s relationship with a beloved Alumnus who resides in the Cleveland, Ohio area and believes in Hilbert’s mission to graduate students who will contribute to a more equitable and inclusive society.  Hilbert began offering a special scholarship opportunity to students who reside just outside of the Cleveland metropolitan region from seven specific high schools which graduate a high population of underserved students in 2022.

We're now extending this opportunity to students from Western New York.

Applicants must be graduating seniors from a high school that has been identified as high-needs within Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Orleans, Genesee, Wyoming, and Monroe Counties. To be considered a high needs high school, more than 50% of students must be eligible for free & reduced-price meals.

You may review your school’s current economic data by visiting the US News & World Report website.

Hawk’s Level-Up Eligibility Criteria

Hawk’s Level-Up Eligibility Criteria

There is no need to apply for the Hawk’s Level Up Grant! To be considered for these additional, need-based financial aid awards, students must:

  • Apply for admission to Hilbert by February 1st (extensions may apply)
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Demonstrate financial need as evidenced by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Have an annual family income of $75,000 or less
  • Be a full-time, first-time undergraduate student enrolled at Hilbert College.
  • Be a graduate of one of the specified high schools in Cleveland, Ohio, Guilford, NC, or Western New York
  • Agree to participate in Hilbert’s supportive programs such as financial aid counseling and academic support provisions.

Level-Up Benefits

Level-Up Benefits

Level-up grants vary in dollar amount and are renewable each year. The amount of your level up grant will be reflected on your financial aid award letter as "Hilbert Grant" aid. Your total financial aid awards may cover up to 80% of your tuition! Hilbert will not award a level-up grants to students who are eligible to receive HEOP benefits or Say Yes to Education Scholarships, as these programs may be of larger financial benefit.
