Study Abroad

A semester of full-time study abroad greatly enriches a student’s liberal education and enhances the student’s ability to live in a global society. To offer this opportunity to our students, Hilbert College has developed several international exchange programs with various institutions in Europe, and continues to develop new partnerships.
A student who will be studying abroad for a semester will be required to attend study abroad information sessions, including but not limited to the application process, cost and compliance, departure orientation, as well as re-entry. Students will work with the Study Abroad department to ensure full preparation for this unique global experience. Upon returning to the college, all credits earned through the exchange program will transfer back to the students’ home institutions and be applied toward their undergraduate degree.
In addition to Hilbert College students studying abroad, students at the partner institutions will have the opportunity to attend Hilbert College for an immersive experience in US post-secondary education.

International Exchange Opportunities

  • Job Marketability
By studying abroad, you will make yourself much more marketable to potential employers. It shows you're eager to learn and willing to try new things, both desirable qualities in an employee. You will be setting yourself apart from other recent graduates also doing a job search. With today's global economy, there is a demand for employees who have first-hand experience with other cultures.
  • Earn Credit and Enhance Your Education
You can earn credits toward your degree or take classes that will enhance your program of study at Hilbert. For example, an English major can study art history or a psychology student can learn about anthropology. There are many options to expanding your educational experience.
  • Adventure and Great Opportunities
Studying abroad is a great opportunity for you to learn and grow. It's filled with adventure and new things to do every day. At the same time, it's a challenging, exciting journey and gives you a chance to be a part of a different culture.
  • Make Friends From Around the World
Here's your chance to discover first-hand the differences and similarities between the U.S. culture and that of your host country. The friendships you make will last long after your study abroad experience is finished.
