Diverse, Inclusive, and Mission-Driven Hiring Process

Called forth by our mission statement and inspired by the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph, Hilbert College strives to embrace its Catholic identity and be equitable in its practices. For it is because we are Catholic and Franciscan that we celebrate the diversity in our community and affirm the inherent dignity of every person, with no exception. We endeavor to integrate these ideals in all our practices and throughout the entire campus. Therefore, we seek employees with all necessary skills, qualifications, and experiences that will also support our mission and will contribute to our effort to become diverse, equitable, and mission-driven.

Hilbert College is committed to ensuring equal employment opportunity, educational opportunity, and equal access to services, programs, and activities without regard to an individual's race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, gender, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, predisposing genetic characteristics, marital status, veteran status, military status, domestic violence victim status, or ex-offender status.

Process

  1. Recruitment
    1. All job postings include a reference to Hilbert College’s Catholic, Franciscan mission as well as its support for the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    2. All applicants are asked to address Hilbert College’s Catholic, Franciscan mission as well as its support for the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  3. Interview
    1. All Hiring Managers and Search Committee members will complete Implicit Bias Training and complete a certification quiz every two years.
    2. The Search Committee and/or Hiring Manager are encouraged to ask all candidates one mission-related and one diversity-related question during finalist interviews.
