Selecting a career path and finding success and satisfaction along the way is a direct result of how prepared you are for the journey. The Office of Career Development can make sure you start out on the right foot and provide assistance along the way.

You can take that first step by scheduling a career coaching appointment with our staff. To schedule an appointment, please complete our online Career Coaching Appointment Request form.

The Office of Career Development provides you with the resources, knowledge and strategies to help you achieve your career and job potential.

We can give you one-on-one assistance with your resume, cover letter and job search. We'll teach you interviewing techniques, how to do an online job search, or about graduate school and post-graduate service possibilities.

Career Prep & Job Search

The Office of Career Development hosts Handshake, an online career readiness platform, exclusively for Hilbert College students and alumni.  The Handshake website and smartphone app has the latest career search tools, tips, and technology. You can: 

  • Search and save jobs both on and off campus, internships & volunteer opportunities
  • Upload your resume and cover letter and apply for jobs
  • Gain access to information on career and volunteer events on-campus, along with career events held off-campus and virtually
  • Connect with over 800k employers

All current students have access to Handshake.  To visit the platform, please go to hilbert.joinhandshake.com and login using your Hilbert email and password.

The Office of Career Development has developed and collected resources on resume writing, job searching, interviewing and more for current students and alumni available on Blackboard.
