The CyberHawks, Hilbert’s Network Defense Team, regularly compete in cyber challenge competitions on both a regional and national scale.
In a cyber challenge, one team of students defends against the onslaught of attacks from the opposing team, earning points for system accessibility and response to management communications, or “injects.” During competition, students not only demonstrate their operational and defense competencies, but also demonstrate that they can carry out these duties amid an active cyber attack.
CyberHawks fight for more than just a 1st place finish:
- Learn
Train with the team to receive practical, hands-on experience in server management, networked operating systems, and incident response.
- Compete on a Broad Scale
Test and demonstrate your cybersecurity skills and knowledge, both at Hilbert and at other colleges and universities.
- Represent Hilbert—and Yourself
As part of the CyberHawks team, you’ll enhance the reputation of Hilbert’s CSIA and Cybersecurity programs—as well as your own!
- Build your resume within a real-world simulation
Get the experience of detecting and responding to outside threats while maintaining the availability of business critical services, and respond to business requests such as the addition or removal of additional services. Demonstrate that you can effectively manage both operational and security concerns.
