American History Minor
To pursue a minor, a student must have achieved sophomore status and been granted permission by the chair of the student's major and the chair of the program offering the minor. A student begins the process by consulting with his or her adviser and completing an application acquired from the Office for Student Records.
For a minor in American history a grade of C or better must be achieved in the following courses:
HI 103. Nineteenth Century America
HI 104. Twentieth Century America
And four of the following (at least two at the upper-divisional level)

- HI 211.
- HI 212. Photographing American History
- HI 213. African American History, Part I
- HI 214. African American History, Part II
- HI 278.
