Sociology Minor
To pursue a minor, a student must have achieved sophomore status and have been granted permission by the chair of the student's major and the chair of the program offering the minor. A student begins the process by consulting with his or her adviser and completing an application acquired from the Office for Student Records.
For a minor in sociology a grade of C or better must be achieved in the following courses:
SO 101. Introduction to Sociology
SO 102. Social Inquiry and Activism
CJ/HS/PSY 305: Research Methods in Social Science
Three of the following:
- SO 301. Cultural Anthropology
- SO 306. Cultural Diversity: Ethnic and Racial Relations
- SO/CJ 307. Gender and the Criminal Justice System
- SO/ECO 309. Human Economics
- SO/CJ 320. Transnational Crime and Comparative Criminal Justice Systems
- SO/HS/PSY 332. Marriage and the Family
- SO/CJ 336
And any TWO (2) upper-level sociology courses
