Sophomore Service
You have successfully completed your first year of undergraduate coursework and are not a freshman anymore.
Although the "newness" and excitement of your first year may have passed, there are many exciting initiatives on our campus just for sophomores.
Three areas of strategic focus
1. Focus on Service
As a sophomore, you may be participating in a course that offers a service learning component. Service learning is a volunteer experience that connects classroom lessons with related work in the community. It's a great way to learn about yourself and your community.
2. Focus on Engagement
Now is a great time to join a club, try out for an athletic team, or apply for a leadership position on campus. Every year the Center for Career & Community Engagement and Student Activities coordinates the annual Involvement Fair.
3. Focus on Career
All sophomores will be offered appointments (check-ups) with a staff member form the Center for Career & Community Engagement during the fall semester.
- Appointments will be pre-scheduled for each student. The date and time of the appointment will be conveyed to the student via a letter sent to their home address and via email.
- At this appointment, you and the staff member will begin to put together a plan, or check up on existing plans, to help you achieve your career goals.
