International Application & Cost

    Application Process

    1. Submit the Hilbert Application or find us on the Common Application
    2. Academic Transcripts/Records

      You may be required to have your official documents reviewed by a third-party transcript evaluation agency. Please make sure to order a “course-by-course” evaluation when submitting your order. Agencies include: World Education Services, Educational Credential Evaluators, Josef Silny and Associates

      • First Time University Students
        Submit your up-to-date secondary school transcripts/records (unofficial copies are accepted for application review, however, official copies must be submitted before students can enroll). We will require a final transcript/record as proof of graduation once you have completed your final year of school is complete. We also require any external examination results (ex. CXC, IGSE, Standard X & XII, A-Levels, International Baccalaureate, etc.) if this applies to your school’s curriculum or country's education system.

      • Transfer Students
        Current college/university students applying to Hilbert College should submit university transcripts up to the most recent completed semester. Official copies of final university transcripts will be required before students start classes at Hilbert.

    3. Proof of English Proficiency*
      In order to be considered for admission, proof of English proficiency must be demonstrated by testing, English as a Second Language (ESL) course completion, or by the attendance of at least (2) full years at a school teaching a U.S., International Baccalaureate (IB), or A/O level (U.K) based curriculum.

    NEW!  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ETS is proud to introduce a solution for students who have been impacted by the coronavirus to take the TOEFL iBT® test at home until test centers can reopen. Testing will be conducted through the use of live remote proctoring serviced by ProctorU®. This high-touch, real-time human monitoring of test sessions limits the number of seats available.     *Canadian, UK, and Australian applicants are exempt.

    Once all required documents are received, the International Admissions office will review applications and determine the eligibility of each applicant for admission and scholarship consideration.

    Billable Items:

    • Mandatory Fees: $2,500
    • Estimated Housing & Meal Plan (double room & meal plan) $13,500
    • International Fee: $2,000*

    Scholarships

    International students who submit either one of the English language proficiency tests accepted to Hilbert College will be considered for merit-based scholarships. The merit-based scholarships are awarded during the admissions process.

    Upon acceptance, international full-time college students who enter Hilbert College in the 2022-2023 academic year may be eligible for ONE of the following scholarships, based upon academic merit:

    In addition to one of the above merit scholarships, international full-time college students may also qualify for ONE of the following annual scholarships:

    BOCES Scholarship  $2,000 Complete courses at a BOCES site or at your high school which transfer to Hilbert for college credit under an articulation agreement and subsequently enroll at Hilbert.
    High School Articulation  $2,000 Complete courses at a BOCES site or at your high school which transfer to Hilbert for college credit under an articulation agreement and subsequently enroll at Hilbert.
    Dual Enrollment  $2,000 Earn transferable college credits through our dual enrollment program at a partner high school and subsequently enroll at Hilbert College.

    In addition to the above scholarships, international full-time college students may also qualify for the following annual scholarships:

    Child of Alumni Award $1,000 Parent must be listed as Hilbert Alumni on Admissions application; Student must remain in Good Academic Standing with the College to renew this scholarship annually

        

    Accepted Student Checklist

    Congratulations and welcome to Hilbert College - follow these next steps to secure your spot in the incoming class!

    1. Submit $225 USD Enrollment Deposit  
      This deposit is required before the I-20 application can be processed/issued.  It will secure your place in our on-campus housing as well as your place in the incoming class.

    2. Complete CSS Profile
    3. Complete I-20 Application & Paperwork
      Print out the forms, fill out the information requested, attach any supporting documents required, and submit them to the International Student Coordinator (Lee Coletti, lcoletti@hilbert.edu). Students must be accepted to Hilbert College before an I-20 can be processed.  Current F-1 visa holders must speak with their current Designated School Official (DSO) to arrange for their I-20 to be transferred to Hilbert College.

    4. Complete Housing Application & Paperwork

    5. Obtain your F-1 Student Visa

    This process can take several weeks to complete so it's important to allow enough time, prior to the start of your intended term.  Further instructions can be found on travel.state.gov
