Career Prep & Job Search

The Office of Career Development hosts Handshake, an online career readiness platform, exclusively for Hilbert College students and alumni.

The Handshake website and smartphone app has the latest career search tools, tips, and technology. You can:

  • Search and save jobs both on and off campus, internships & volunteer opportunities
  • Upload your resume and cover letter and apply for jobs
  • Gain access to information on career and volunteer events on-campus, along with career events held off-campus and virtually
  • Connect with over 550k employers

Looking for on-campus student employment?

This is the place for you! All federally funded work-study positions as well as Hilbert-funded student employment opportunities are posted in Handshake.  Just search for "Work Study" (if you are awarded Work Study in your Financial Aid package) or "On Campus BERT" positions to learn about and apply for the opportunities to work part time on the Hilbert campus while you are a student here.

Get Started!

It's easy. For new student users, simply log in to Handshake using your Hilbert email address and your Hilbert password.   We have preloaded some of your information into Handshake to help you start to build your profile.

Alumni are also able to create and request an account in Handshake.  Visit https://hilbert.joinhandshake.com/login and click 'Sign up with your own email address' beneath the Hilbert College sign in button.  Follow the prompts to create your account.  After these initial steps, the Office of Career Development will confirm the account on the platform.
