Community Standards help students learn through difficult, challenging or unsafe situations throughout their tenure at Hilbert College. We use restorative practices in all of our resolutions to give back to the local and college community, while maintaining community standards for student’s actions.
Our staff is intentional about creating a community where all people have the means and the opportunity to resolve conflict peacefully and in a manner that supports the Franciscan values of the college.
Our objectives are to:
- Create meaningful dialog about college policies and how they relate to the college community
- Supports the search for truth and derives decision making on facts over assumptions
- Provides cohesive community standards with thorough education that support a safe and healthy living-learning community
- Understands wrongdoing primarily as a violation of relationships and…
- believe in due process and justice for any individual involved in a challenging situation
